Greetings dearest friends, distracting familiars, and darkest foes,
Given that the last couple months of 2021 were built on top of a me-burial-ground where I burnt out while finishing up my tech diploma and then spent time trying to recover, it has been a while since I put some genuine work into my novel, “Alio.” My goal was to have it done by the end of January… which is not happening. This month has been a month of terrible mental health, and school stress that shouldn’t exist, but does. Thankfully that seems to be getting smoothed over for the time being.
Not to mention, I just simply have been struggling to jump back into a halfway complete novel after such a long hiatus.
The plan initially was to do a “zero draft” and not really dive into revisions until the zero draft was completed. However, I think that the best course of action for me would be to start revisions of this first half of the novel so I can really get my head back into it.
So, that’s tomorrow.
I’m going to start revisions of Chapter 1 and go from there.
I’m excited. Not being able to work on this thing has been weighing on me, and certainly hasn’t helped with my mental health.
I also failed to upload a YouTube video for Saturday – for obvious reasons. I’m not going to rush the video. I want to make a good, short intro for my videos and up the production value a tiny bit. So, I’m going to put a little time into that. I do intend to have 52 videos for the year, so there will be some weeks with more than one video coming up.
Upcoming Things:
1. I have to write two short stories for one of my classes. Once I have revised versions of those you’ll find them here. Probably in late February, and April.
2. I have a project for a film studies course. When that is done, it will likely be something I can share here, so expect that by May.
3. I’m planning on sharing the first chapter of my novel here… once it’s in a form that I’m comfortable sharing. And then not get published for a decade, making you wait in agony. 😘
4. I’m planning on revising some of my old short stories, some of which will be posted this year. I might even just post some raw versions of my old short stories – ones that aren’t good enough to revise.
5. Once I have assets made for my videos, upcoming videos will be: my first writing update, “Authortube Newbie Tag”, “Tips for Writing Trans/Non-Binary Characters,” and a video detailing my favorite films of 2021.
6. I will be continuing streams on my Twitch channel. There is no schedule, just when I feel like it, follow my Facebook Page to see when that happens. Or better yet, follow my Twitch channel if you really want to be notified when I’m streaming. Lately I’ve been streaming Terraria, and Zelda: Ocarina of Time Randomized. (You can find Twitch stream archives on this separate YouTube channel.)
7. I am slowly working on the plans for that queer Zelda-like game I have mentioned a couple times. Don’t expect anything for, probably, years. I’m a hobbyist game developer, and this is my first major project. You can check out the other garbage I’ve made here.
